Saturday Evening Art

It’s Saturday evening, and I’m unwinding from the day with a cup of tea, my dog curled up beside me. The soft glow of incense drifts through the air, wrapping the room in warmth as I settle into the quiet. The week has been long, but tonight is for stillness, creativity, and a little time to breathe. Kings of Convenience is playing softly in the background, their mellow tunes the perfect soundtrack for this relaxing evening.

With my brush in hand, I work on a new painting—one that wasn’t originally on my list but felt meant to be. A friend recently sent me a breathtaking photo of Mount Rainier from Owen Beach at sunset and asked if I could create my own rendition of it. The colors, the reflection on the water, the mountain’s quiet strength, it all spoke to me.

As I layer the sky with warm tones, I feel the calm of the evening settle around me. It’s a peaceful moment, just me, my art, and the inspiration that’s come from a beautiful photograph and from the people who see the potential in my work.
