Dear INFJ: Letter #2 – Your depth is a gift

I see you.

I see how the world looks at you and whispers that you’re “too much.” Too intense. Too deep. Too emotional. Too serious. Too… something. And maybe, for a while, you believed them. Maybe you tried to tone it down, to laugh a little louder at jokes that didn’t land, to nod along when people skimmed the surface of things you wanted to dive headfirst into.

But let me tell you something: you are not too much.

You were never meant to be small. You were never meant to flatten yourself into something more “digestible.” Your depth is not a flaw—it’s a gift. The way you feel things with your whole body, the way a single song can shift your whole day, the way your empathy wraps around people like a warm blanket—that’s rare. That’s powerful. That’s beautiful.

You notice things others miss. You hear what isn’t said. You carry the weight of the world quietly because your heart is expansive enough to hold multitudes. When someone’s in pain, your soul bends instinctively toward them. You’re not just a listener—you understand. You feel. And while that sensitivity has hurt you, it has also made you a safe place for others to land. That is not weakness. That is strength.

Yes, you’re intense. But that intensity comes from love. From curiosity. From wanting to connect on a level that most people don’t even know exists. You aren’t interested in small talk because you want to understand someone’s story—their scars, their dreams, the things they hide when they think no one is looking. That isn’t “too much.” That’s intimacy. That’s truth.

The world often doesn’t know what to do with someone who refuses to settle for shallow waters. But please don’t let that make you doubt your magic. Don’t shrink. Don’t silence the poetry in your heart. Don’t apologize for caring too deeply, loving too hard, or dreaming too big.

Your emotional depth is not a burden. It’s a blessing.

So here’s to your quiet fire, your soulful gaze, and your unwavering need to feel it all. The world needs your light—exactly as it is.

With love and understanding,
Another deep soul who gets it.

Xox,

Stefanie
