I made my first vlog — something completely new for me. I actually love speaking in public, so that’s not an issue at all. It’s just that, like many INFJs, I often feel that my words come across more clearly and beautifully on paper than they do out loud. Still, I wanted to challenge myself to share in a new way.
In this first video, I talk about my mom, the remarkable woman she was, and the lessons her life continues to teach me. Even though she’s been gone for years, her legacy reminds me daily of the things that matter most.
One of those lessons is the power of words. A single phrase can encourage someone for a lifetime, or leave wounds that take years to heal. Life is already heavy and my mom showed me the importance of choosing compassion instead of cruelty.
I also reflect on connection and surrounding ourselves with people who truly see and support us. And just as important is tending to our mental health. Whether that means rest, counseling, therapy, or other support, seeking help is not weakness. It’s an act of courage and care.
This vlog is both a small way of honoring my mom’s legacy and a reminder for anyone who needs to hear it: your words matter, your mental health matters, and you deserve kindness, from others and from yourself.
