I absolutely love The Police! They’re one of my favorite bands in the world! Sting is pure genius and the way their music blends complexity with such irresistible fun blows me away every time. Their songs are intricate, catchy, a little ethereal, and fun to listen to. Honestly, I could get lost in their music for hours and never get tired of it.

I don’t just listen to their lyrics even though they are incredible. The words are often deep, beautiful, and sometimes heartbreaking. They make you think. I love that.

But the instrumentals? That’s where the real magic is. Each member of the band is ridiculously talented. I could sit for hours isolating the bass, the drums, the synths, and the guitar just to hear how each piece fits together. It’s fascinating.

Don’t get me started on the fact that they’re catchy as hell while still being so talented. Some bands are “fun” but dumb. Some are “genius” but boring. The Police somehow manage to be both. They make music you can analyze endlessly and still dance to in your living room at the same time. That’s not easy, and that’s why they’re one of my all time favorites next to Steely Dan.
