Sunday Night at Jazz Alley

Sunday night was such a phenomenal experience. I went to Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley in Seattle to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. They were electric. I’ve always been a big jazz fan but seeing them live was something else. The energy was contagious, the music was popping, and I couldn’t help but dance along in my seat (since you can’t actually dance at Jazz Alley but that didn’t stop me!)

The venue itself is really intimate. I was sitting up on the balcony, but I still felt so close to the band.

You could feel the sound in your chest, and every note just hit perfectly. They were so fun, so talented, and just full of life on stage.

One of the best parts of the night was getting to meet the bassist – Dirk Shumaker- after the show and take a photo with him. He was super kind and soft spoken which was interesting because his stage persona is much more outgoing and bold. Really cool contrast.

And the food – oh my god. Expensive, yes, but absolutely worth it. I had the short ribs with polenta and asparagus, and I savored every single bite.

I also tried the Moroccan lentil stew, which was perfectly spiced, and their cornbread with butter and honey, which was out of this world.

Everything was just phenomenal.

Overall, it was such a special night! Incredible music, great food, and that cozy, classy Jazz Alley vibe. I’m 100% going back!
